How American Syscomptel, Inc. Started

From a desire to serve to a legacy of service

Our story began in the 1980s in Green City, Missouri, where Pastor Jim Rardin saw the suffering of his congregation due to a lack of steady jobs. He had the idea to assemble a group of reliable locals and sell their labor in the marketplace. This led to the creation of American Syscomptel Inc. (ASI), which initially produced telephone line cords for small phone companies in northern Missouri.

In 1988, Gary Chowning, inspired by Pastor Rardin’s efforts, started a similar venture in Forsyth, Missouri. The company began by assembling small electronic parts by hand and gradually expanded into wire harness production.

Despite challenges, such as a massive fire in 2002, ASI has continued to grow and thrive. Today, the company provides steady jobs at fair wages to over 50 team members and another 10-20 who do take-home assembly work.

We are proud of our legacy of service to our community and our customers. We are committed to providing high-quality products and services that meet the needs of our clients.
